Tips For A Cancun Family Vacation

Cancun is a popular spot for family vacations among vacationers worldwide. With a splendid landscape and countless tourist attractions, a Cancun family vacation will provide you with an exhilarating and unforgettable experience. Cancun has plenty of family-friendly resorts, with a wide range of kids' programs and infant care facilities.

Cancun Sightseeing

If you go on a Cancun family vacation, you've got to visit Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, the most famous ecological attraction in Mexico. This large ecological park includes several lagoons, forest, ruins, wetlands and marine habitats. It is also the home of over 350 species of birds and hosts 30 Mayan Archaeological sites. You and your kids may also love to explore other Archaeological sites around Cancun, such as Chichen Itsa, Tulum, Elrey and many other Mayan ruins.

Cancun Activities

The main attraction from a Cancun family vacation is always the sea. Apart from walking on the beautiful sandy beach, you might also love diving, fishing, sailing or snorkeling. To make your Cancun family vacation even more exciting, you could spend a day at Xel-ha. This is a natural aquarium where your kids can swim or snorkel among dolphins and colorful fish. If you love golf, you will definitely enjoy spending a few hours at the 18-hole Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf course.

Cancun Shopping

Everyone in your family will have something to do on a Cancun family vacation. With a wide variety of Yucatecan creations, as well as some American-style shopping malls, Cancun is a real shoppers' paradise.

Languages & Currency

Spanish is the official language in Cancun. However, in the resort areas, most people speak English as well. The official currency is the Mexican Peso, although a large number of resorts accept U.S. dollars as well.

Cancun Weather

If you'll catch a beautiful weather as well, your Cancun family vacation will be truly perfect. The average temperature in Cancun is about 80 degrees. It rains more during Summer and Fall months (6.5 - 7.5 inches).

Entry Requirements

You will need a valid passport or a birth certificate and photo identification to enter Mexico. Anyone under the age of 18 is considered a minor. In certain situations, you need some other documents too.

A minor who travels unaccompanied or in the company of anyone other than his/her legal parents or guardians will need a notarized written permission signed by both of his/her parents. If he/she travels with only one parent, a notarized letter of permission from the other parent is necessary. If the parents are divorced or one of them is deceased, the parent that holds custody has to carry a legal proof, such as a death certificate or a proof of sole custody.

A Cancun family vacation will be a unique experience for you and your kids. With countless entertaining activities and exciting places, Cancun is the perfect location to spend some quality time with your family and share some memorable experiences.
